ART PORTFOLIO

Works from 2018-Present

This is an overview of my works from the beginning of college till now. I specialize in painting, printmaking, and textile work, specifically beading and embroidery. I also have experience in sculpture and ceramics. My works focus on vibrant colors, mythological figures, and vivid storytelling. Notable projects include my body of work for the Jewish Museum's Virtual Summer Institute, the Medusa Headdress, which was featured in the 2021 Gallatin Arts Festival, and my Senior Project, a children's book titled What is a Painting, a recipient of honors at Gallatin and a recipient of the Deans Award for Graduating Seniors. My most recent explorations include nature-inspired ceramic works, and mixed media works inspired by the patrons I work with at the Brooklyn Public Library. Explore, and enjoy!

BROOKLYN PUBLIC LIBRARY PROGRAMS

At the Brooklyn Public Library, I devise and conduct inclusive programming for children with and without disabilities. Using universal design and multiple intelligence theory, these programs are weekly and always free. It has been a great joy to use my art skills to create props and aides for the curriculum I have been designing since September 2022. Fun fact- I have also written my own children's songs!

RECENT WORK

Recent work, on view or on sale, featuring ceramics, embroidery, and printmaking. I am committed to being a mixed-media artist and am always looking to hone my skills, learn new ones, and combine media in interdisciplinary projects.

WHAT IS A PAINTING?

Senior Project 2022

Guided by my Gallatin academic advisor, Yevgeniya Traps, I wrote and illustrated a 29-page children's book addressing the ideas that art is for everyone and can be found everywhere.

MEDUSA, 2020-2021

Performed by Emily Massey, Shot by Sophia Wang

Materials: Beads, Thread, Felt

Music: Mary Magdalene, FKA Twigs

I created this headdress to imagine what accessory I could wear to fend off unwanted attention as I walked down the street. The figure of Medusa resonates with me personally, as her story represents some of the most anguishing and powerful aspects of womanhood. Collaborating with Tisch Collaborative Arts Student and dancer Emily Massey (NYU '23) and director and videographer Sophia Wang (NYU '22), we devised a performance reflecting the depth of feeling present when pondering what it would take to be left alone.
